GUIDE / Authentication diploma and transcript by a designated federal authority.

International students often need to have their diploma and transcript authenticated by a designated federal authority. This authentication takes the form of a certification form called an "apostille" as approved by the Hague Convention.

On the transcript, the following statement is typed: "This document is an official transcript of the named student's academic record." The statement is followed by the Registrar's original signature, and the transcript is pressed with the Wheaton College seal.

On the back of the diploma, a similar statement is typed: "This document is an original diploma indicating the named student's degree award." The statement is followed by the Registrar's original signature, and the diploma is pressed with the College seal.

The Registrar's signature on both the transcript and the diploma must be notarized.
