What documents does my fiance (fiancee) have to provide when he/she applies for K-1 Fiance (e) visa at the American embassy or consulate in his/her country?

The consular section at the consulate where the fiance (fiancee) of an American citizen will apply for a visa, will tell you about any additional specific requirements that you need to fulfill to complete your visa application, such as where you need to go for the required medical examination. The following is required:
• A passport valid for travel to the United States and with a validity date at least six months beyond the applicant's intended period of stay in the United States.
• Birth certificate
• Divorce or death certificate of any previous spouse of you and your fiance (fiancee)
• Police certificate from all places where your fiance (fiancee) lived since age 16
• Medical examination of your fiance (fiancee)
• Evidence of financial support (Form I-134, Affidavit of Support may be requested)
• Two Nonimmigrant Visa Applications, Form DS-156 (Form DS-156, prepared in duplicate) to be filled out by your fiance (fiancee)
• One Nonimmigrant Fiance (e) Visa Application, Form DS-156K to be filled out by your fiance (fiancee)
• Each dependent minor child your fiance (fiancee) also needs a completed Nonimmigrant Visa Application, Form DS-156 in duplicate
• Two nonimmigrant visa photos (each two inches 50 X 50 mm square, showing full face, against a light background) of your fiance (fiancee) and your fiance’s (fiancee’s ) minor child(ren)
• Evidence of a fiance relationship
• Payment of fees.
Your fiance (fiancee) should take legible photocopies of civil documents, such as birth and marriage certificates, to the interview, so the original documents can then be returned to him/her.
Documents in foreign languages should be translated.
The consular officer may ask for additional information according to the circumstances of the case.
